Our Goals

I was a super morbidly obese person for most of my life – almost all of my adult life. And in 2002 I had the Roux-en-Y procedure at UCLA. Since then I’ve lost 340 lbs. So, I learned the hard way.

After I had the surgery I realized I didn’t know what it was like to be a thin person. So, how could I really become one if I didn’t know what it was like?

Therefore I had to learn and watch behavior. And I’m a behaviorist, do you think I would figure this out ahead of time? The surgeon gives you a tool. They operate on your stomach. We need to figure the rest of it in our heads.
